Do you want to leverage your business to really live the life you are dreaming of?
One of the first steps to creating more time and freedom is by taking the yellow brick road to LEVERAGE.
Anytime I work with a client that complains of stress related overwhelm or worse….’money problems’ usually due to NO CLIENTS at all, I know she needs more LEVERAGE in her life to build the business she loves.
So many of us yearn for more time and a fabulous lifestyle but do we really know what it takes to make that happen? Or fully understand what Leverage really means as it pertains to our business?<
Let’s take a look at the definition from the business dictionary, shall we?
Okay, here goes….
LEVERAGE Your Business
The ability to influence a system, or an environment, in a way that multiplies the outcome of one’s efforts without a corresponding increase in the consumption of resources. In other words, leverage is the advantageous condition of having a relatively small amount of cost yield a relatively high level of returns. See also financial leverage and operating leverage.
Wow. That was certainly technical and even a bit ‘stodgy’ sounding but the magic word tucked in there was ‘MULTIPLY.’
When you multiply your time by working smarter, you inevitably create leverage and therefore dramatically increase your income.
You see, the key to a fabulous lifestyle is multiplying your clients and basically multiplying EVERYTHING related to them.
Here are 3 ways to leverage your business, multiply your income and create that fabulous leverage and lifestyle you’ve been craving:
- Start leveraging your time. That may sound obvious and possibly overstated but are you REALLY doing it? Do you give yourself deadlines, for instance? You will find that you work far more efficiently when you know that you have to complete a task by a certain date and time. Give your team or even others around you deadlines too. That way you won’t have to be such a micro-manager and you’ll start working more like a leader. Consider delegating more too. This can change your life and business drastically. Get a virtual assistant. Hire a personal assistant to run errands for you. Hire a maid service. Trying to do it all yourself may be the most common reason for staying stagnate and stuck at an undesired income.
- Leverage your marketing– use client testimonials to do the referring for you. Display them on your website, in your email marketing and set up referral systems to have them working for you like little soldiers. Use your blog to travel throughout many social spaces as well as sending out to your email list.
- Leverage your income– Create a signature product and build out from that one. Too many service based businesses don’t create a product immediately and yet that’s where the real leverage begins in your income. Having a signature product and being known for that product will lead to other products and ultimately multiple income streams. You can start with a lower price point product and create a product suite once you’ve reeled them in had them fall in love with it. Think more like Apple and start envisioning an entire product suite to pull off the shelf when you’ve discovered what their needs are in conversations. It also helps people buy from you. When they aren’t certain what you do or how you can help them products make it simple for them to make buying decisions.
